Live Stream

Overview

The Live Stream (Play) page allows users to view real-time video feeds from a selected vehicle camera, alongside current location and telemetry data. It is intended to provide immediate visual and contextual awareness of a vehicle’s current situation.

Vehicle and stream selection

At the top of the page, users can:

  • Select the vehicle to stream from

  • Choose the stream quality (e.g. high quality)

  • Switch to playback mode via a dedicated control

Live video feed

The main panel displays the live camera feed from the selected channel.

  • The active channel (e.g. Front) is clearly indicated

  • On-screen overlays include:

  • vehicle identifier

  • timestamp

  • current speed

  • camera channel name

  • Playback controls allow pausing and resuming the stream

  • Snapshot or zoom controls are available directly on the video player

This feed provides real-time visual context of the vehicle’s surroundings.

Channel controls

Users can choose which camera channel to view (e.g. front-facing).

  • Supports vehicles with multiple camera inputs

  • Enables switching between available perspectives during a live session

Location and position

The left-hand panel displays current location information, including:

  • Last update timestamp

  • Street-level address

  • Latitude and longitude

  • Map view showing vehicle position and orientation

This provides geographic context alongside the video feed.

Update history

An updates history section indicates whether recent data or events are available for the selected vehicle.

  • Empty states clearly indicate when no events are present

  • Supports awareness of recent system activity

Telemetry

The telemetry panel shows live vehicle data, such as:

  • Current speed

  • Vehicle status indicators

  • Additional metrics available via “Show more”

Typical usage

The Live Stream page is typically used to:

  • Check the current situation of a vehicle

  • Gain immediate visual context during an incident or alert

  • Verify vehicle surroundings or conditions

  • Support operational or support workflows requiring real-time visibility

Scope

This page focuses on real-time observation, not historical analysis. For reviewing past activity, users are directed to playback or event-based views.

Playback

Overview

The Playback page allows users to review recorded video and telemetry from a specific vehicle over a selected time period. It combines video, map-based journey context, and time-aligned vehicle data to support retrospective review of trips and incidents.

Vehicle and time selection

At the top of the page, users can:

  • Select the vehicle to review

  • Choose the recording date

  • Select the stream quality

  • Switch back to live video when required

Video playback

The main video panel displays recorded footage from the selected camera channel.

  • The active channel (e.g. Front) is clearly indicated

  • On-screen overlays include:

  • vehicle identifier

  • timestamp

  • camera channel

  • Playback controls allow:

  • play / pause

  • scrubbing through the timeline

  • Snapshot and zoom controls are available on the video player

Channel selection

Users can choose which camera channel to view during playback.

  • Supports vehicles with multiple cameras

  • Allows switching perspectives while remaining within the same playback session

Map and journey view

The map shows the vehicle’s recorded route for the selected trip or time window.

Displays:

  • route path

  • current playback position

  • directional indicator

  • Playback position is synchronised with the map marker

This provides geographic context alongside the video footage.

Timeline

The timeline at the bottom of the page represents the recorded time window.

Allows users to:

  • scrub to specific points in time

  • jump between recorded segments

  • Greyed or segmented areas indicate recording availability or gaps

This supports efficient navigation through longer recordings.

Telemetry

The telemetry panel displays vehicle data aligned to the playback timestamp, such as:

  • speed

  • vehicle state indicators

  • additional metrics available on demand

Telemetry updates as playback progresses, allowing correlation between video and vehicle behaviour.

Graph views

Tabs below the timeline allow users to switch between:

  • Timeline

  • Speed graph

  • Fuel graph

  • Driver view

Clip creation

A “Create clip” control allows users to extract a segment of recorded footage from the playback timeline.

  • Supports sharing or further review

  • Enables isolating specific moments of interest without exporting full recordings

Typical usage

The Playback page is typically used to:

  • Review journeys after completion

  • Investigate incidents or events

  • Validate alerts or alarms

  • Extract short clips for reporting or evidence

  • Correlate video with location and telemetry data

Scope

Playback focuses on retrospective analysis. Unlike live video, it enables review with context, controls, and navigation across time.
