Tailgating tracks the gap between the vehicle and the one ahead

Following Distance Monitoring (Tailgating) measures the gap between your vehicle and the one ahead, identifying when the distance becomes too short and reduces safe reaction time.

Tailgating is a leading cause of rear-end collisions. Monitoring this behaviour helps promote safer driving and provides a clear record in the event of an incident.

Following distance is measured in seconds and is referred to as Time to Collision (TTC). This represents the time it would take for your vehicle to reach the vehicle in front at the current speed.

Exeros standard configuration (settings are fleet specific so may not match these)

TTC Display

TTC is shown on the mini display when travelling above 35 mph.

Visual Warning

The TTC value turns red when it falls below 0.7 seconds.

Alarm Trigger

An alarm is triggered if the TTC remains below 0.7 seconds for 10 seconds.

This duration is sometimes referred to as the effective time.

At motorway speeds, vehicles may appear a long way in front of the vehicle when reviewing footage.
